Big Freaking Bottle Launcher

For launching a 15L water cooler bottle. Work in progress. I recommend ABS for this one, using a slury or acentone brush over to seal all the gaps for pressure. The barb piece should have the brim cut off and acetone-glued into the base. O-Rings should be installed in the rings, and a 1/4" ID

Description

This is untested, and potentially dangerous.

If it works and I don't blow the bottle up in my face, I will update the design with a release mechanism -- for the moment, I am counting on the air pressure getting stronger than the friction against the O-rings, and then blasting.

Materials and methods

3D Printed Parts:
- print 1 launcher in ABS
- print 1 hose barb in ABS

Other:
- Acetone or ABS-Acetone Slurry: to smooth and seal the parts, and to join the hose barb piece to the main piece
-1/4"ID air hose, one end attached to air compressor
- Zip ties or pipe clamp for hose barb
- Piece of wood as a base & screws for the holes in the legs
- big O-rings to fit on launcher

@skettymon: Agreed! I never got this to work - at the time, my printer was not creating pressure tight results. I suspect if I went at it again with ABS and did a brush on or acetone vapor smoothing, that might help. I haven't revisited it in 2 years.
