Two Voronoi style boxes to store business cards

Description

These boxes are made to contain standard business cards (5,1 x 8,5 cm). They have thin walls (1mm), with a Voronoi like structure. The first one is 3,5cm deep, the second one 8,5cm deep. You can choose between two models of hinges : a standard, bulky and solid one, and a small and discrete magnetic one.

They are light and pretty fragile, therefore are not intended for carrying your cards on travels.

I have added a part to be used as a separator for the different kinds of cards.

Materials and methods

I used ABS, as it allows to weld parts using acetone. Walls were printed separately, then assembled.

The first version of the hinges uses two axles that are simply pushed in place (some sanding may be required for a soft movement).
The second version uses magnets (two 2x2mmm cylinders) pushed into the hinges. The hinges are then welded to the walls. (note : pay attention to the magnets orientation!)

The download contains two versions of the box and cap sides, top and bottom walls, for the little and for the bigger box. It also contains two versions of the box and cap rear walls, for the standard hinge and for the magnetic hinge. The box and cap front walls can be used for all versions of the box.
