Description

Can be used as replacement caps for keyboards, although that's not what this design is meant for.
Instead, use it when you make custom keyboards / buttons.

Cherry MX switches can be bought in numerous electronics component shops, such as Mouser.

This is a WIP. If you're interested, don't hesitate to comment and give feedback for improvement and further development!

Mind the orientation when mounting the cap. The oval stem on the cap's inside must match the button's stem. It's easy to spot - if you can't push the button, then you have to rotate the cap by 90Β°.

Printing instructions:
Use a 0.4mm nozzle (or smaller).
Layer height: 0.06mm recommended.
Print slowly, and reduce stringing to an absolute minimum.
Print multiple caps at once for improved cooling.

Materials and methods

My preference: MX black linear switch (panel mount) --> MX1A-11NN
Of course, you can use blue, brown (tactile), red (linear low force) and so on as well.
