Description
The normal backplate for the Duplicator i3 V2 uses a fairly awful fan that can't move much air. This mod solves that issue by letting you mount a 70 or 80mm case fan onto the back of your control box to keep everything cool.
See the materials section for printing and assembly notes.
Materials and methods
- 4 20mm M3 bolts
- 4 M3 hex nuts
- A 70 or 80mm case fan
Printing Notes:
- You might want to manually place some supports below the sharp overhangs next to the cut out for the power input and switch.
Assembly Notes:
- The hex nuts should friction fit into their holes from the bottom. You can use a screw with a washer to force them into place if it's too tight.
- Make sure that you screw the backplate onto the the control box before mounting the fan.
Use a normal 70 or 80mm PC fan grill.
