Description
I have replaced the smaller aluminum GoPro Mount on the G6. The original would only work with earlier smaller GoPro Cameras and the new larger GoPro 10 Black is not supported. My unit screws onto the G6 at the same mounting point and is balanced for the GoPro 10 Black. I have provided the source file (.scad) so other similar cameras could also be accommodated.
Materials and methods
Several trials were performed to find the precise balance of the GoPro on the gimbal. This effectively required putting the center of gravity of the camera along the center line of the vertical tilt motor. Other cameras will required this adjustment to the drawing. Provided are two variables that assist in making these adjustments in the MountPlate module.
The best lateral balance can be achieved by sliding the adjustable arm so the arm almost but does not scrape the handle during swing through.
Printed using ABS in two parts and cemented toghther with Aceton
