Description

In learning how to sail, I wanted to monitor the effect of little changes to the sails while out in our little dinghy. In the past, I've used this GPS receiver sat on the thwart, but it slides around and is also quite difficult to read with the display flat.

This is my first attempt at producing a bracket/holder for the GPS. I can thread bungees through it and tie them onto the mast. Another bungee threads through the bracket for holding the GPS. I have a lanyard attached to the GPS, which will go around the mast, to stop the GPS floating away if anything goes wrong.

The mast diameter is 56mm. The diameter of the bracket is 58mm, so I'll use a bit of foam to take up the space and prevent slippage.

Materials and methods

I printed this in PLA with 20% infill. It was printed "upside down" so that no supports were needed. It took about 6 hours on the usual settings with a Creality Ender 3 pro.
