As the pouch included with Google Glass does not provide sufficient protection (my first device cracked after several months), I designed this hard case to use instead.

The case prints as two separate parts which snap together. It completely encloses the devices for optimal protection, while keeping the size as compact as possible.

Besides a compartment that holds Google Glass, there is space for all included accesories, like the earbud, sunglasses, charger and cable. There is also room for the stereo earbuds underneath the sunglasses.

Note: the graphics printed on the lid are laser printed on an A4 transparent label which is applied to the lid and cut to size. The graphics were made with Inkscape.

Materials and methods

I printed my cases with PLA on an Ultimaker 2 with the following options:

- 0.15mm layer size
- 1mm shell thickness
- 1mm bottom/top thickness
- brim to prevent warping
