Description
These parts can be used together with a Flex3Drive kit to build the Flex3Drive on an Ultimaker 2.
Please note that building a Flex3Drive onto an Ultimaker 2 is not an easy task. This is an upgrade for the handy tinkerer.
The draft installation manual was made by Korneel Bullens.

Bas van Deursen commented agoYou can buy the parts as an upgrade kit from Ultimaker. However because this is quite an experimental upgrade kit it is not sold through our resellers yet. If you want to buy a kit you could send me an email at b.vandeursenATultimaker.com
You could of course also buy a kit from mutley3D.
If you are a bit handy (also in CAD) then I think it must also be possible to build something with a set of standard worm gears like for example this: https://www.conrad.nl/nl/wormwielset-module-075-messingstaal-30-236900.html
However I think that it might be more difficult to find a good quality flexible drive shaft. I've experimented with several types and it is very important to have one that has a relatively high rotational stiffness.
dintid commented agoThanks. Just learned I can't actually buy the small bits and pieces, so guess I'll have to skip this.
"The gears are not printable items and only available as part of a full assembly, as with the hobb which is a custom modified mk8 and the main shafts are accurately machined parts also only available from me."
Had hoped it was standard readily available items used, but guess I was wrong. Please correct me if the gears can be found somewhere?

Sorry for the late reply! I accidentally did not opt for the "follow this conversation" option and only saw your comment just now.
This is an experimental kit and Ultimaker does not have a normal sales channel for it yet. Also the product is not supported in the same way as the normal Ultimaker products. However if you would like to buy one in order to experiment with it, then please send me a personal message.
