Description
This bracket will allow the use of face shields with hole punched using a US standard 3 hole punch. Three 0.281" diameter holes spaced at 4.25 inches.
A 30 inch length of 3/8" elastic secures it the wearers head. The elastic loop may be created by stapling the ends together (don't use cheap staples) after looping it through the bracket.
Legal size (8.5 x 14 inch) transparencies or equivalent size clear plastic are recommended.
A Swingline Smarttouch 20 punch will allow the wider sheets to be used. Some will only allow letter size sheets.
I added a lens support to for the thin lens material if it is necessary for your use. There are small buttons that need to be added to the assembly vs the attached ones in the previous design. They are sized to be attached with #2 self tapping screws.
Materials and methods
21 g Taulman TCTPE Nylon (other materials should also work but they should be flexible)
30" x 3/8" braid elastic (76 cm x 1 cm)
8.5 x 14 inch transparency.
US Standard 3 hole punch
A sweat band can be made by sewing a 3.5 inch piece of fabric centered on a 1.5 x 6 inch piece of fabric. The sweat band lays over the top of the head strap.
For the lens support version, There are small buttons that need to be added to the assembly vs the attached ones in the previous design. They are sized to be attached with #2 self tapping screws.
