The two parts slide into each other without rotation, so the slots are always perfectly aligned with the zip ties.

The filament labels can be stuck onto tags and the tags can be attached with zip ties to the filament coils. When the filament coil is used with the Master Spool, the tag can be attached to the spool with a piece of self-adhesive velcro.

The labels from are 90 x 30 mm. So the tag is 91 x 31 mm.

The flanges are 5.6 mm thick and chamfered. The slots are 10 mm wide.

Integrated in the flanges (as in RichRaps Solution) are openings for the filament end. Three for 1.75 mm and also three for 2.85 / 3 mm.

The hole in the hub where the beginning of the filament can be fixed is 3.7 mm wide.

This Master Spool has been developed for and tested with 1.75 mm filament. I do not have any of the thick filament here so I can't test it. It should work with 2.85 / 3 mm too, but I cannot guarantee. If you encounter any problems, please tell me and I will correct the design.

Here is the original MasterSpool from Richard Horne (RichRap):

From bbgott came the idea to use label tags:
