Description

The case which comes with the Milwaukee 28-piece hole saw kit (part #49-22-4185), while excellent for portability, is not great for finding a particular size of hole saw in a workshop. I wanted something where each size of hole saw was visible at once, and where you could remove one piece at a time and see at a glance which ones were not put back in the tool chest. So that's precisely what this hole saw organizer index solves.

Materials and methods

As pictured, these were printed using Hatchbox red PETG. I would not recommend printing these out of ABS, because the parts are very large and prone to warp. If your shop is not air conditioned, I would not recommend PLA. Which leaves PETG as an excellent choice for this.

Infill can be very low for this part, since strength is not really needed, but make sure you have enough top layers to completely close up all gaps in the top and give some durability. Each hole saw slot has a closed bottom to keep the teeth of the saws from hitting the bottom of the drawer, but that means that the teeth will be against a "top" surface, so you will need enough layers to keep the plastic from being ripped up by the saw teeth.

These parts are very large and will require a large format printer to print.
