The PiKon telescope was developed for Sheffield University's 'Festival of the Mind'. It combines 3D printing with a Raspberry Pi computer and camera to make a low cost astro cam. The idea was originally to demonstrate what the maker and citizen scientist could do with these new technologies. Since the festival, the project was crowd funded so that makers could easily get hold of the non 3D printed parts and kits are now on sale.
