This cable chain replaces the factory cable bundle for the purpose of avoiding broken wires. This makes sure the wires bend in a large radius and don't get repeatedly bent in the same location.

You can completely remove the braided wrap and route your cables through this chain. The two chain pieces alternate so that you can install it without having to fish the wires through the chain. You'll need to print at least 14 pairs plus the motor mount.

Black zipties can hold the chain in place, using the same holes that are used for the braided wrap zipties. To install the motor bracket, remove the motor.

NIce result. Don't forget to use support for the motor mount.
Excellent design that resolved that old problem of the cable touching the print!

Good result in 0.3 fast print. Then you have to play with the chain to make it very flexible.

The links worked as they should and the motor mount is a perfect fit.
Took a picture with the links installed. I mentioned this in the comments, too, but be warned that the extra bit of distance the wires have to travel for the stepper eats up a bit of the slack on the wires. In total, it ate 70mm off of my maximum build height. I generally don't print things very tall (or even big, for that matter), but it is still a consideration if going this route.

Great results. This solved a design problem with the Printrbot Metal Plus extruder cable management.

I too had the motor lead break internally. Printrbot sent a new motor quickly, but I printed a chain to make it unlikely that it happens again. I didn't want to remove the motor to attach the chain support, so I printed just the rear portion and epoxied it to the motor end plate. Very secure and it leaves the rest of the motor exposed for cooling purposes.

Printed perfectly at .2mm layer height, with supports. I accidentally used 30% infill so you could probably drive over the motor mount with a car and not break it. Motor mount fit too tightly for me, but that could be due to my printer's/filament's calibration.
When the printer is moving on the X axis I can see that there is no movement of the cables by the motor anymore. The motor mount fit VERY snug. It became a little stuck near the end and I had to force it with clamps. If I had to print it again I would shrink the mount slightly before printing, but that might be just for my printer. Normally I have copper RAM heatsinks on the top of my motor to help cool it. The only place I could put them with the motor mount installed was on the back of the motor, which meant I could only use 3 instead of 4. Hasn't seemed to make a difference, and the motor/extruder doesn't overheat.
