Description
Model of a rocket based on the famous Belgium comic book series "The Adventures of Tintin". A picture of the book cover "Rocket to the moon" is included (in Dutch). Also included is a picture of yours truly next to a large model of the rocket on Zaventem Airport, the Belgium national airport.
The model was created using Blender with an example image of the rocket in frontal view of the rocket as background image.
Two versions are supplied here. One is the complete rocket in one piece. This model can be printed as large as the maximum height of your 3D printer. I've printed an 18 cm high one. The other version comes in two parts, bottom and top, that can be assembled after printing. In this way the model can be printed twice as large as compared to the first one.
Materials and methods
I have printed the model in PLA.
For the small version the model was scaled 2300 times in Cura. The large model (bottom and top) were scaled 0.4 times (40%) in Cura.
Issues. The three support of the rocket are spheres and the center body requires printing in thin air. As result it is required to print using a support structure.
