Based on original design: Ultimaker 3 Spool holder by Ultimaker

Description

I was frustrated by how the Ultimaker 3 stock filament guide works, especially with wider spools which jam up.

This front mounting filament guide is remixed off the original Ultimaker part: https://www.youmagine.com/designs/ultimaker-3-spool-holder

It simply clips on the front of the spool holder - the cable cover can not be used with this guide. The white insert from the original guide can be put in this one if wanted.

Materials and methods

Printing with 3 shells will make most of the areas pretty solid. I set infill around 40%. Supports are needed but set the overhang angle high (ie: 85 degrees) which will avoid supports for the openings at the very top.

Printed just fine on the S5. Chose 150 micron. I used PVA support to get really accurate supported surfaces.
