Description

Just another aid to guide the filament through the feeder. In combination to Roberts spool holder and extruder it works well.

Print all parts, Guide and back bone screw together, put rollers together and slide on the shaft then screw on the end plate.

I used Cura support structure for "filament Guide " part.

I tapped the holes for the cap screws but you maybe able to get them started without one.

If there are problems with the design please let me know. don't just give a bad star rating so adjustments can be made so everyone benefits.

Materials and methods

2 x 3mm cap screws. minimum 10mm long
optional M3 tap

On the older machines there was a key hole that this would clip into. This is not present in newer machines as they no longer provide the guide

Carousel thumb filament guide out of date
Printed on:
ultimaker 2
Result:
GREAT PRINT!
Feedback:
I printed this for a UM2 Extended that I bought 12/10/2015. This is a great print, but the back design appears to have changed to not allow the bottom of the guide to secure into the frame.

Carousel thumb dscn0605
Printed on:
Ultimaker - The Ultimaker 2
Result:
Printed nice at 0.1mm layer height, 50mm/sec speed with brim, in PLA. Needed post-processing with some tools (File, Sandpaper, Drills, Milling cutter, 3mm Tap) to make it all fit together.
