Description
This is a basic version of a uniaxial translation stage. It has a travel of 20 mm and it can be clamped to the optical table with a tie-down table clamp.
Use it as it is, or feel free to modify it according to your needs!
Materials and methods
Print the parts in the stl-file using a material of you choice. The test print was made with PLA. Depending on the quality of your print, you may have to do some sanding to the slider and the base block. Remember to use water when sanding, if you print with PLA.
Non-printed parts:
2 x 80mm M6 socket cap bolt
2 x l=70mm d=6mm polished steel rods
2 x springs d > 6mm compressed length 10 mm uncompressed length 70 mm
2 x M6 nuts
1 x 40 - 60 mm M6 socket cap bolt for moving the stage
1 x 20 - 30 mm M6 socket cap bolt for attaching the post holder
Assembly is pretty straightforward (see the picture).
