This is a wasp trap,
It is more compact than its previous version (
- the inside cap diameter is 63mm,
- the screwing part contains 4 edges evenly space 3 mm apart (12mm for a single helix).
- easy opening (screw on regular jar),
- a hole on top to let a string pass,
- protections prevent rain water to fill the trap.
Materials and methods
Important note: the color of the filament seems to have a strong impact on the trap efficiency. I dont know anything about the visual spectrum of the wasp, but from my experience, Orange PLA worked better than black NGen. Please let me know if you tried other materials / colors.

Purple, blue and yellow are the preferred colours of the wasp. But of course many dazzling colours attract them because they can see UV light and polarized light. What they do not like is green, white or any very bright colours because they seem like grey for wasps. They can't see black, but because it will offer a warm surface (if the sun is shining on it), it can attract them too.
I will try this trap - thanks for it!
