I have the opposite problem - my stepper gear moves *away* from the stepper motor. I open the cover - push it back on - and then the printer works for just another 30 minutes or so. Will this spacer work on the other side as well? I guess I need to take it apart again and check :(

Result:: Seems to work well. I had to file out the hole that the rod goes through a little. It could be a tiny bit longer in the longest axis. maybe .1mm or .2mm more.
