Fun give aways for a 3D Hubs Costume event. Used the "Surface Mode" option in Cura and a 0.8mm nozzle with .5mm layers to cut down the print time.
Feedback:
Some of the models had thin walls that wouldn't print right under usual circumstances. I think for these models the "surface mode" option in Cura makes a ton of sense. You could make these models print even better in this mode by keeping all the angles nice and steep. Like 65 degrees and up.

The part where the blade goes in seems not really be flat and there is some weird geometry showing up around the spot for the magnet. I'm printing a test out now, but I am sinking the handle into the bed in Cura a bit so I can start with a nice flat surface. Thoughts?

I'm having some trouble finding the best printing orientation for these parts. Any chance you can post some screen shots of how you set it up in Cura? Cheers!

Thank you for this design and all the others. I've printed a few sets of reptar blocks and have been appreciating several other designs of yours. Lots of inspiring work and I look forward to what you come up with next! On to the task at hand: I just ordered all the parts I need to make two of these knives and was looking for any info on how to assemble. Do I just put things where they look like they fit and add glue? Might be obvious once I have everything in front of me, but I figured I'd ask all the same. Cheers,

Great files and solid assembly manual!

Thanks for this manual. I had tried upgrading to an E3D hotend, but wasn't having much luck getting it all to work reliably (probably my fault). This time though things all worked out great. Really appreciate it. I do think it's worth mentioning though that the default firmware on the UMO+ seems to have the extruder going the opposite direction so people should select the "invert extruder 1" box in the firmware builder. That and I can't seem find a good / quick way to install / remove filament with the new feeder. Any thoughts?
