Hi, my name is Sandra Burns. I work as an administrator for a business. I am a mother with a husband and two kids. My family includes two cats and a cat and a dog. It's difficult not to be aware of their presence in your life. I don't feel alone when I go home. I know there are other four-legged companions. Sometimes, it can be stressful (e.g. when the animals get into a flurry), but it is often joyful. Now I can't imagine living in a house without a pet. I imagine animals as being able to sense moods and worry about me. Once, I was taking an extended bath when a group of dogs and cats came to my aid. They opened the door and said, "Mistress! You're drowning. Get out!" looks. It was hilarious. Pets are a common feature for owners of animals, including fish, dogs, cats and birds. They are all cute however nothing can beat the love and affection of a loved pet. Living near pets is very good for human beings and has been confirmed by scientific facts. The interaction of animals and humans is certain to enhance and prolong our lives. But medical research also proves the positive effects of animals on our health. The hormone oxytocin increases when you are in a relationship with animals. This lowers stress-inducing cortisol levels. Doctors now recommend pet ownership for those suffering from stress. Babies are especially benefitted by interactions with pets. Children who grow up in homes with animals tend to be less likely experience anxiety and stress. The relationships they have with animals reduce the risk of developing emotional, mental and behavioral problems as they grow older.
