<p>waterproof vases are not that easy as they seem ;)</p><p>for a waterproof bottom your chances are best with 0.4mm wall thickness (at least i had the best results - apart from merging 2 gCodes)</p><p>additionally you can raise you intitial layer line width (advanced settings/Quality) so the "filter" is filled with more material.</p><p><br></p><p>the e-value is the value of the extruded volume of the material in the extruder.</p><p>regarding the merge of 2 different gcodes:</p><p>at the start of layer #4: gcode bottom e-value is 1200</p><p>at the start of layer #4: gcode vase e-value is 1600</p><p>when you merge these 2 files together, there is a jump of 400 - so your extruder will push as it was the last day on earth, so you have to set an "offset", which you do by setting "G92 E1600".</p><p><br></p><p>another option for a waterproof bottom is to apply clear coat inside the vase and swirl the vase like a good glass of brandy ;)</p>

<p>hi schablone,</p><p><br></p><p>nice print, nice color! which material did you use?</p><p>what is the max height you could print this vase on your UM2ext?</p><p><br></p><p>which issues did you discover with the bottom layer and how did you solve it? the spiralize function does not work very well with bottom layers when you are printing thicker than the nozzle size (0.8mm wall thickness @ 0.4mm nozzle).</p><p><br></p><p>for this issue I slice the model without spiralizing and default wall thickness to generate a gcode called "bottom.gcode"</p><p>then i generate a spiralized gcode with my main settings called "vase.gcode"</p><p><br></p><p>finally i take the first 4 layers of the first gcode-file (where the bottom is printed waterproof) and i merge them with the rest of the "vase.gcode", starting at Layer #5</p><p>(depends on your layer height and bottom thickness)</p><p>it is urgent to reset the E-value at start of Layer #5, you do this with an</p><p>G92 E2339.77709</p><p>where the e-value is your first e-value of the appended "vase.gcode"</p><p><br></p><p>greetings from austria,</p><p>uit</p>
