Description

I created this voronoi heart and then wired it with Neopixels. I then connected it to an Arduino powered heart rate monitor (http://pulsesensor.com/) to create a heart rate visualizer.

This heart was modified from Solid Anatomical Heart by huntgather98 found here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:693895

Materials and methods

There are 4 files here, the complete heart file and 3 cut files. The 3 cut files are printable with little to no supports. Also the cut files are currently scaled to be approximately accurate to human scale. Each cut will fit on an Ultimaker 2go print bed. I printed using PLA, 0.1mm layers, with a 0.4mm nozzle. Use ultimaker filament and it comes out shiny and beautiful. Almost no post processing needed.
I combined the pieces using friction welding
(see tutorial here http://makezine.com/projects/make-34/skill-builder-finishing-and-post-processing-your-3d-printed-objects/)
