Description
How is this 3D Map of the Netherlands created?
- We created the basic Map at pdokviewer.pdok.nl (select AHN1 5m [wms])
- We changed the colors into a gray scale (and changed some colors)
- We imported it in SketchUp
- We used the Plugin: Bitmap to Mesh to create the map in 3D
- We imported it in Autodesk Meshmixer
- We gave it a body, did some adjustments and make the object solid
- We sliced it with Cura (size it back to 0,05, bottom thickness: 0.3 and fill: 20%)
- We printed it on the Ultimaker Original
Is it perfect? No, so we challenge you to make a better print or model.
