Description
Cottle's elevator is an important instrument used in facial and plastic surgery to slide under soft tissue and periosteum to extend distances creating a tunnel effect. The width of the blade allows a large area of tissue to be lifted.
The Freer elevator is a specialized instrument designed for elevation and separation of the periosteum and other soft tissue. It plays a vital role in dental, nasal and neurosurgical procedures. It has a blade that scrapes the bone and can also help with dissection.
