Description
360 degrees fan shroud for Printrbot Simple Metal with E3D-V6 hotend.
Shroud contains airflow 'divider' in effort to direct more airflow to the far end of the shroud. Because of this it's not the quietest of the fan shrouds out there so keep in mind increased noise levels when considering it for printing.
Shroud has self-tapping holes for M3 screws, no nuts necessary.
It's designed to be mounted with the fan on the outside of the frame.
[EDIT]
Uploaded V3 of the model (with and without the airflow divider)- it was remodeled from scratch.
[EDIT2]
Uploaded 5mm shorter version of the shroud.

Yea, printed on Simple Metal with the E3D v6, sliced with Simplify3D (very noticeable improvement in print quality since I got S3D - it's expensive but worth it IMHO). There are some imperfections but are not visible on the front.
Did you print that on a printrbot simple? It looks so perfect...
It fits great and also seems to be working well. Thanks again for the modifications!
Wow, thank you for the quick work. The printer is already running to test it. I fully understand the problem, in a previous life this printer was an upgraded Makers Edition, where I designed the shroud myself. PITA in terms of backpressure, dimensions, everything. We shall see how it goes.
The problem with making it 5mm shorter is that the horizontal portion of this fan shroud is already less tall than I would like but I had to make it like this because otherwise It would hit the nuts and mount keeping the bed leveling probe in place. Cutting it down another 5mm would severely limit the airflow the back portion gets making it less functional and potentially prone to warping due to heatblock proximity. But.... I was using a parametric software to create this so It's not much work to create a modified one. I'll upload it right now. (the shorter version has no airflow divider as that needs more work and I'm lazy :P )
Just let me know if it fits =]
Is there a chance you could remodel the v3 to have the bottom 5mm higher? I mounted my v6 with much less stickout...
Sorry for the late response, Youmagine fore some reason doesn't notify me about new comments :/
The holes are undersized so there is no need for nuts. I don't think the holes for nuts would work with this design due to the way the duct comes out from a square base not just from the circle in the middle.
Great design! It's basically the E3D v6 version of my favorite printrbot fan duct...

Are the holes a little undersized so the screws will hold without the nuts on the other side? Could you add a recessed hex profile for the nuts like that one I linked above?
