Gingerbread Recipe
Ingredients:
100g Butter
100g Honey
300g Flour
1 teaspoon baking-soda
100g powdered sugar
1 Egg
1 pinch pepper
½ teaspoon Nutmeg
½ teaspoon Cinnamon
(2 teaspoons Cocoa)
Melt butter and honey together in a pot.
Mix together Flour and baking soda.
The butter-honey mass, the flour-baking soda, powdered sugar, egg and the spices are mixed together to get a nice even dough.
If you want you can dye the dough using cocoa.
Let the dough cool in the fridge for 15 minutes.
Roll it out to 3-4mm thickness.
Cut out the pieces (you’ll need two of each for the house).
Bake them at around 160°C circulating air for about 7 Minutes.
Bigger pieces may need 1 to 2 minutes longer.
For the „glue“:
beat the egg white from two eggs until it’s stiff.
slowly add 400g sieved powdered sugar while beating until it’s a tough snow-white mass.
If you want it colourful just add some fruit or vegetable juice and some food colour.
Put the mass into a decorating bag
Steps
-Bake the gingerbread dough after cutting enough
parts as described in the recipe.
-Let the parts fully cool down.
-"Glue" one piece at a time starting with the base
and let the pieces rest for at least 1 minute until "gluing" the next piece. The roof will be the last two pieces.
-You can decorate the houses as you wish.
