Description
I wanted a speedpuck mount for the RS Aero dinghy that has less risk of lines getting caught in the mount. Thus I designed this mount a bit more shaped than the original carbon mount (which is expensive too).
The 3D printed mount is about 90 grams. I do recommend to use FormFutura ApolloX ASA material as it is UV resistant, water resistant, heat (sun) resistant and prints easy. But obviously thats your choice.
What you do need is a button-fix Type 1 connecting base. Thats about 3 EUR/USD at the RS sailing store or other places.
Additionally you will need stainless wood/metal screws:
* 6x 3mm diameter - you clip them in length to about 10mm total length (so to not push through the back of the base; hence the middle ones could be a bit longer)
* 2x 4mm diameter for the button-fix (length 10 - 30mm)
I strongly recommend to use an additional thin line to secure the speedpuck itself (not the mount) at the vang cleat (see picture).
