obert is Co-Director of JeffDESIGN at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia. The first-of-its-kind for a U.S. medical school, JeffDESIGN exposes Med Students to the concepts of design and encourages them to apply design thinking to solve healthcare challenges with a focus on patient centered design and promotion of the maker mentality. Through his involvement in JeffDESIGN, Robert hopes to re-invigorate grassroots innovation in healthcare by giving providers the tools to design their own solutions to the problems they encounter every day. Robert designed and is building the first health focused maker space at a US academic medical center; Housed in the vault of the Second Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, it is a place where students, providers, and patients will be able to go to learn how to develop their ideas and make them a reality.
